A$114

This is the painting that first attracted me to Anthony White’s Money series.  The contrasting colours work really well in this painting, and I like the glossiness of the numbers.

A$28

The Australian series all appear to be very similar in design, at least until you get past $100.  This one is an exception however.  I do like the nice solid serif font, and the blue is nice too.

Hmm another low-ish one.  Maybe I should take back what I said about them…What I like about this is the clean green canvas, then the chocolate-like numbering over the top.  Mmm chocolate

I wasn’t going to pick any of the lower numbers, but this one was just so striking that it demanded attention.  Which brings me to another point; the lower numbers, in general, are not are artistically accomplished as the higher ones (which is conveniently reflected in the price). However, the lower numbers are now far more valuable that the higher ones, wich is a strange sort of turnaround.  Hopefully the higher numbers will also increase in value as more paintings are sold.

£64

This is the painting I nearly bought, not only because it would make a nice pair with my 32 Euro (double, see?), but because I like the blue background with the yellow contrast.

£73

This painting is kind of whimsical, like it’s come from a Tim Burton film or something (bizarre analogy, I know). Nice and elegant.

£82

82 Pounds

And so to the Pound series.  This series has really evolved, compare the early paintings to the later ones, and you will notice a remarkable transformation, from simple lines and colours to much bolder figures, colours and even textures.   The £82 painting really caught my eye, it looks like it’s come from the pages of a comic book.  The numbers are shaded to give it a bit of depth, and the colours really work well. I like this one a lot.

60 Euro

Very nice ‘font’ if I can call it that.  Simple and effective, nice lines.

27 Euro

This is so out-there I had to include it.  Again, it’s a departure from convention, it’s as if painted by a different artist.  Very surreal.

32 Euro

This is my painting, I reserved it before I saw the finished product.  I may be biased by including it here, but i do really like it.  The colours are great, glowing like neon. This painting was briefly on Anthony White’s front-page, and I must say that I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw it.  (make no bones about it, it’s a lucky dip when you pre-order a painting, and some are defiantly much better than others).  I toyed with the idea of buying 64 as well (which I also like) but it was sold before I got round to it.
